The annual Golf Classic has been proudly renamed to the Ric V. Lerma Memorial Golf Classic.

Ric (July 20, 1954-January 25, 2023) began his tenure in 2012 quickly getting involved with the GGCF/Garden Grove Chamber Golf Classic. He was committed to finding sponsors, recruiting golfers and improving the annual tournament to be known as well-established fundraising event enjoyed by many each year. Ric's passion to improving the quality of life in Garden Grove also led him to making an impact on the GGCF Summer Concert committee. His dedication to bringing high quality bands and expanding our resources has made Garden Grove Free Summer Concert Series one of the most well attended concert series in Orange County. Ric's pledge to philanthropy and improving the community was evident in his efforts advocating for more assistance to community groups. During his tenure as President, GGCF donated over $60,000 to community groups such as the Garden Grove Police Explorers, One More Productions and the Miss Garden Grove Pageant. Ric's legendary commitment to the Garden Grove community will be missed by his colleagues on the Board and his Garden Grove extended family.

Join us as we continue Ric’s legacy of this fun-filled day of golf, food & drink at Willowick Golf Course, 3017 W. 5th Street, Santa Ana. All proceeds will benefit both the Garden Grove Community Foundation and the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce.
